McCormick Woods Sunday Feb 23 2025
NWHP Champ, Paula Anderson, is hosting 20 players for a winter walk at McCormick Woods Golf Course on Sunday, February 23, 2005 starting around 10:30 a.m. Walking fee is $39. Carts are available on request at the pro shop. Register early and bring your mittens! It’s gonna be fun, as always. New Year’s Day 2025!
Host Roberta Robbins has seven tee times reserved at Bellevue Golf Course starting at 10:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025. This is our traditional anniversary outing, as NWHP was formally formed on New Year’s Day 2014. Greens fees are $44 without a cart, and $62, with a cart, both plus tax. Greens fees include a warm-up bucket of balls. We’ve been informed that the restaurant will be open that day, which is a plus. Dress warmly and bring those hand warmers! 2024 Gloria Minoprio Challenge
Gloria Menoprio was a boss. She played in the 1933 Ladies’ British Open Amateur Championship with just one club (a cleek) and was the first woman to wear trousers in competition. In her honor, Northwest Hickory Players presents the 2nd annual Gloria Minoprio Challenge. Players must wear trousers and use only one club. It has to be an original hickory-shafted iron (no replicas) with a loft of 25-degrees or less (aka a “cleek iron”). No woods permitted. No measuring devices of any kind allowed. July 12, 13 and 14, 2024 formally The Gearhart Hickory Classic played at the Gearhart Golf Links on the coast of Oregon The Historic Gearhart Golf Links, Gearhart, Oregon is the site for this two-day event formally known as the Gearhart Hickory Classic, the event’s name has been changed to honor the Columbia river, named after the ship (Columbia Rediviva) and, subsequently our event sponsor, the Columbia Sportswear Company, who have generously supported our efforts at Gearhart in the past. Celebrate World Hickory Golf Day
Join in the fun and play for the John Ball Trophy at the Vintage Hickory Classic May 5, 2024 Meadow Park Golf Course, Tacoma, WA This year’s event will be held with tee times beginning at 10 a.m. Players will pay their green fees at the course–$40 walking, riding carts extra–and the entry fee for the event–payable to Rob Ahlschwede at the event–$20 to cover a small gift and prizes.
