2021 Pacific Northwest Hickory Championship June 19-20
The Northwest Hickory Players is pleased to invite you to the seventh annual 2021 Pacific Northwest Hickory Championship to be held at the historic Longview Country Club in Longview, Washington. Longview CC was established in 1923 and has hosted numerous major Northwest championships. The front nine was designed by Francis L. James and opened in 1927. The back nine opened in 1958. Registration Now Open for 2021 Goose Cup
Gilles “Goose” Guenette is hosting the second annual Goose Cup, a season-long match play affair for up to 32 players with pay-outs for the top four finishers. As tournament director, Goose will assign all brackets and players will be responsible to plan their matches on mutually agreeable grounds for each stage. Last year’s champion is Gerry McFaul. NWHP Goose Cup Individual Match Play – 2021 Hosted by: Goose Guenette Tournament Director: Goose Guenette INTRODUCTION: 32 player individual match play tournament to be played over the 2021 NWHP season. All rounds will be played at a course mutually chosen by the players involved. The players will be arranged by handicap index and matches assigned to minimize strokes given. The intention is to encourage NWHP play between scheduled events and around scheduled events. USGA rules of golf in effect. Observe local rules in effect for play on the day of your match. The Open After The Open | Chambers Bay
Come one, come all… Join us for that bucket list round the day after the U.S. Hickory Open at Gearhart. We have 24 tee times at site of the 2015 U.S. Open, Chambers Bay. We’ll tee off after 2:00 p.m., so there’s no need to rush the drive up to Seattle. NWHP has a special rate of $125 per player (plus tax). The normal rate is $275. Cedarcrest Golf Course| October 17
Host, and Board Member, Peter Yagi booked an event at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville, Washington for October 17. Please join us! We have eight tee times (32 players) starting at 11:30 a.m. $40 greens fee for walking, $15 for a shared cart, $20 for an individual cart. Competition will also include a separate $10 entry for “low net” and “fewest putts” (two separate competitions). Foster Fourball and Trade Show: July 25
Foster Golf Links, Tukwila, WA Foster Four-Ball is scheduled for Saturday, July 25th at Foster Golf Links. The field is limited to the first 36 players to sign up. First tee time is at 12 noon. Green fee is $40, pay at the course. In addition, we will be collecting $10 for competition. This is a fun best ball format on a hickory friendly course. The Northwest Hickory Players is pleased to invite you to the sixth annual 2020 Pacific Northwest Hickory Championship to be held at the historic Eagle’s Pride Golf Course in Dupont, Washington. Formerly known as Fort Lewis Golf Course, golf was first played on this military base in 1922 when General Ulysses Grant McAlexander ordered the construction of a nine-hole course. One Club Jigger Challenge: May 17
Join us for our hickory golf event at Wing Point on Sunday, May 17th. This will be an eighteen hole, “one club” event using only the JIGGER. For those players who do not already own a jigger, we will be able to loan them one. Jigger golf is a VERY liberating way to enjoy the game…strolling around the course with only a single club is a wonderful feeling…as is learning to use it to hit shots from 5, to 50, to 130+ yards.
