The members of Longview Country Club, (est. 1923) in Longview, WA have graciously invited Northwest Hickory Players for a day of hickory golf at their course on Sunday, May 31st.  Don’t miss this rare opportunity to play on a historic, private golf course! Members are enthused with the idea of trying hickory golf, and Rob Ahlschwede will provide rental sets to them. As a result, we’re getting a great deal.  Let’s show the members how fun hickory golf can be!     2021 New Year’s Day Outing | Lynnwood GC

    NWHP Board member, Roberta Robbins, has reserved six tee times at Lynnwood Golf Course, starting at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 1, 2021, for our special anniversary New Years Day outing.  The holiday rate is $33, though Premier Golf members may pay a little less.  Carts are available. The competition will be two-net-scores-per-foursome and we will collect $10 per player for the competition pot.  Lynnwood doesn’t accept tee times more than two weeks in advance, so precise starting times TBA. In the tradition of the Ryder Cup, the team from California is matched against the team from Oregon and Washington.     Vintage Hickory Tournament Saturday, May 1, 2021 First tee time at 10:00 a.m. The Vintage Hickory Tournament has been one of the Pacific NW “Major” hickory events with Jim Von Lossow as one of the past winners. The Vintage Tournament is in the ninth year and is what started the “World Hickory Golf Day” that is advertised by Society of Hickory Golf (SoHG) and many other hickory groups. The event has always been played at the Meadow Park Golf Course and is supported by the Tacoma Metro Park District Golf Operations Manager, Chris Goodman, who is a avid hickory golfer.     Spokane Hickory Open: October 2-3

    The S.H.O. will be contested over two days at Indian Canyon designed by H. Chandler Egan [c. 1930].  2019’s inaugural event was fantastic as expressed by many participants!  Tee times will be Noon on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.     Join us for the 2020 Classic Chapman on Saturday, February 15. The outing will be held at The Classic Golf Club in Spanaway, Washington, and hosted by club member, Steve Malmquist. Individual closest to will be awarded on each of the par 3’s with a modest payout. The two lowest net scores will also receive a payout – the more players the less modest the payouts will be.
