IDAHO HICKORY SHAFT GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP May 31-June 1, 2024 River Birch Golf Course Star, Idaho Tournament Format Two day (Fri. & Sat.) 36-hole stroke play individual competition (gross & net) AND 4-person team competition. Teams will be mixed and assigned by the Tournament Committee, with A,B,C,D players on each team. Our 11th Annual New Years Day outing for 2024 honors the 10th anniversary of NWHP (you’re not one-years-old until a year passes) and will be held at beautiful Maplewood Golf Course. We have secured six tee times starting at 10:00 a.m. Play will be a 4-person scramble for which we will colllect $10.00. We will also collect $10 per player for the much-anticipated 2024 calendar. Gloria Menoprio was a boss. She played in the 1933 Ladies’ British Open Amateur Championship with just one club (a cleek) and was the first woman to wear trousers in competition. In her honor, Northwest Hickory Players presents the inaugural Gloria Minoprio Challenge. Players must wear trousers and use only one club. It has to be an original hickory-shafted iron (no replicas) with a loft of 25-degrees or less (aka a “cleek iron”). No woods permitted. No measuring devices of any kind allowed.
